"I am delighted that UTS further cements its partnership with our nearest northern neighbour. The collaborative projects designed to flow from this memorandum of understanding will re-engage the UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with Indonesia, and the ITPC, FASS and DAB are at the forefront of innovative ideas for exciting industry-student collaboration.
Too often Australians fly over Indonesia on their way to somewhere else. The signing of this MOU today represents our realisation of Indonesia as a destination in itself, where Australian and Indonesian partners solve wicked problems together.
At the people-to-people level, Memoranda of Understanding such as the one signed today represent the embarkation points for bigger and better ideas. This collaboration highlights our intention to prioritise intercultural understanding in our region as Indonesia’s business and trade sector engage some of UTS brightest young minds."

"It is so important for Australian design students to develop relationships with Indonesian designers, manufacturers, and producers. We have a commitment to sustainability and social justice at UTS, which means that while students develop their design skills, they also learn about materials, global supply chains, and waste. Collaborating with ITPC means we can provide unique learning opportunities that are grounded by real world challenges and opportunities, and have fun making new friends in Indonesia.
Sustainable design is a global challenge. In Australia, students need to learn how to collaborate with global stakeholders, even though they can't travel overseas."
