Sustainable Towel
How many towels do you need? Some may say a set of eight or two for every family member. Some say each person should own at least two full sets of towels, which can include bath towels, bath mats, hand towels and washcloths. And this is before one considers beach towels!

Besides comfort, size, colour and price, have you ever considered how eco-friendly and sustainable your towels of choice are? Having towels made of sustainable material is more important than you might think. It has many advantages, including high absorbent, softness, and antimicrobial properties with the ability to thwart microbes and bacteria, which is increasingly important in our post-pandemic world.
In response to the global demand for eco-friendly and biodegradable products, Indonesian towel producer PT. Wiska has teamed up with Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), one of Asia’s biggest natural fibre producers, in launching the Eco Pure S towel range, which is made with a blend of 100% sustainable viscose and cotton. APR's 300,000-tonnes capacity viscose rayon mill in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, Indonesia is supplying the globe’s increasing demand for sustainable fibres in the textile industry.

PT Wiska in collaboration with Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) have created Eco Pure S, a range of towels and bathroom textiles made with a 100% plant-based biodegradable rayon-cotton blend known as ‘Terry RC’, which encompasses the product’s concept of ‘Sustainable, Strong and Soft’.
APR’s biodegradable viscose fibre upholds their No Deforestation policy, by only sourcing wood fibre from sustainably-managed plantations and forests. Committed to maintaining a sustainable supply chain, APR’s Follow Our Fibre initiative uses a blockchain-based tracking platform that opens the door for traceability across their entire viscose fibre supply chain.

Made with renewable material, APR’s sustainable viscose fibre makes woven and knitted products feel seemingly weightless. The high absorbency and soft nature of the Eco Pure S product range make them superior over other towel products, as these are important elements to consider when choosing the right towel.
As well as boasting antimicrobial properties, the Eco Pure S range is made using a sustainable manufacturing process, involving environmentally-friendly and socially-responsible working conditions, certified to STeP by OEKO-TEX®️.
So, next time you’re buying a new set of towels, why not choose sustainable towels made with 100% plant-based fabrics that are not only better for you but also better for our planet?
